How it started
I’m not a stylist and I’ve never claimed to be. What I have is years of trial and error on my own hair, and a stubborn habit of reading the evidence behind whatever the bottle promises. Somewhere along the way the routine stopped being a chore and started being something I actually looked forward to.
That shift is the reason this site exists. Good hair information is harder to find than it should be, and far too much of it is written to sell you something.
What this site covers
Hair care in the broadest sense, for every hair type, written the way I’d explain it to a friend:
- Daily routines and washing, what actually needs doing and how often
- Deep treatments and repair, for dryness, damage and heat
- Natural hair care, and where the claims hold up
- Curly and coily hair, and the products built for it
- Honest product picks, including what isn’t worth your money
How I write
From experience, not theory. Where I have a view, I’ll give it directly. Where there’s a genuine trade-off, I’ll say so rather than paper over it. If something is outside my experience, or depends heavily on your hair rather than mine, I’ll say that too.
The site is reader-supported and some links earn a commission. It never changes what gets recommended.
Got questions, or ready to style?
If you have a question, a product you’d like reviewed, or a correction, I’m always glad to hear from you.
